THE FUNNIEST
A comic is a strip of pictures, speech, bubbles and caption boxes, which tell a story. They became popular in magazines and newspapers in the late 19th century Rudolph Dirks was one of the first comic artists to draw stars to show pain on thought balloons that look like clouds.
Comic strips can be entertaining, funny or political. The first comics were called "the funnies", and were used as marketing strategy to attract readers to the Sunday newspapers. Although they began as a as a small features in newspapers, comic books became an art form of their own.
Nowadays, the Japanese comic style called manga is growing in popularity. I miss Widely, enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. Many of Hollywood and TVs most popular characters also come from comics. The Fantastic Four and a Superman, for example, are well-loved mother heroes, who came from the Marvel comics brand, which began in the 1930s.----

In this unit, you learnt the difference between a myth and a legend, and studied the structure of a story. You used language for telling stories, like verbs in past tenses, conditionals and reported speech.

 

- Decide on setting, characters in general  plot.
- Write versions of the story, with dialogue .
- Edit the stories, taking the best parts from each one.
- Create a comic .
